THE SHADOW BOX
It was 1925. Calvin Coolidge had just been sworn in for his second term as
the 30th President of the United States. The famous "Scopes Monkey Trial"
had just taken place, Ernest Hemmingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald had met for
the first time at Paris' Dingo Bar, Adolph Hitler had just published his
first volume of "Mein Kampf", the photoelectric cell had just been
demonstrated for the first time, and Vladimir Zworykin had just filed for a
color television patent. In Albany, Oregon, it seemed like just another
year, sandwiched between 1924 and 1926. Little did the people know that some
of them would never be the same after the passing of that long, hot Summer.
A new production will be coming to Flinn's Theater in the Fall. SONG OF THE
SANDMAN. An original play set in the not too distant future and the not too
recent past. Watch for information concerning performance dates and ticket
availability.
