| THE PURSUIT by SAMANTHA BLANK Samantha is the granddaughter of our own Wilton and Nancy Mahaffey. She's eighteen years old and already serving her Lord with excitement. She is moving toward teaching and involvement in world missions. Last year she ministered in Russia where she worked with a small church in Borovichi, handing out resources, and holding ministry crusades. The Lord allowed her to witness many miracles and blessings during that life-changing time. Next August she plans to travel to the United Kingdom, where she will be involved in street preaching and conferences. She pauses to offer a personal testimony through poetry, and requests your prayers for her life and future ministry. The pursuit Walking..... I am in and by myself I walk down a road, deserted and alone Not seeing that there are Hundreds, thousands, millions even Walking Dow this same road In, and by themselves Little realizing that someone is following Someone is pursuing Walking.... I hear footsteps unknown, yet strangely familiar I pick up my pace and laugh a nervous laugh Chiding myself for being jumpy I can hear the footsteps I glance over my shoulder, seemingly alone Nevertheless, someone is still pursuing I break into a run Preferring isolation, needing perfect love Love that casts out fear and Peace, peace beyond comprehension And I continue to run The footsteps are gaining on me Matching two steps for my every one Continuing always to pursue Running..... I am at the end of myself Staring down this cliff's edge Rocks tumble below And the footsteps still echo At the end of myself Closer and closer Reverberating through my being cornering the pursued Running..... I am caught The pursuit is over I look to my captor, only to see Laughter, not menacing, but... joy I am glad I have been caught Captured by love, and peace Picked up and swung around And now I pursue Running..... |
