METROPOLIS

In 1926 German Director Fritz Lang made METROPOLIS, one of the most famous and influential science fiction films of all time. In this silent epic, he pictured an incredible future world sustained by the labor of mindless drones working beneath the surface of the gleaming skyline. Deep within the shadow of towering skyscrapers, hidden away in a dark cottage, the scientist Rotwang labored on the creation of a gleaming Robotrix, which he ultimately brought to life and fashioned with the synthetic features of a woman.

Now, years later, an aging Rotwang revisits his laboratory, tired, bored, and seeking answers about life. His plan is simple. He will once again reanimate his robot, and send her on a quest through the past, hoping once and for all to discover some secret that can bring lasting meaning to any life.
