MY JOURNEY TO HEAVEN by JAKE THOMAS
When God reached down and touched me, and took me by the hand,
We soared through the Heavens to that Promised Land.
We passed over mountains, the valleys and the plains,
While angels shouted praises to His holy Name.
We landed on streets of glory, an angel as my guide.
When he looked into the Book of Life he found my name inside.
We talked to St. Peter, while he carefully checked my file,
As the Pearly Gates swung open, he said "come in awhile."
We strolled on the streets of Heaven, its beauty everywhere.
I've never seen a likeness or anything to compare.
I got to see my Jesus, with Mary standing by.
You could see a mother's pride sparkling in her eyes.
I heard angels softly singing, as we walked I had no fear.
Then I heard familiar voices fall upon my ear.
It was my mother singing alto, with dad's bass joining in,
With their robes of snowy white, on their faces they wore a grin.
They knew their work was finished and that they had passed the test.
Eternity was theirs. God's holy place of rest.
