I first met Innocent in a dusty field in the heart of Blantyre, Malawi.
He came selling papers, and left a newborn child of God.
He plays a major role in my book MY NAME IS INNOCENT.
Copies of this book are available through Calvary Baptist Church of Albany.
It was obvious to me even then that the Lord was laying His hand supernaturally on the young man, and I have continued his spiritual journey with him from afar for the last several years.
He is being used to lead his nation to Christ, and I celebrate the grace that brought us together for even a moment.

MY PEOPLE & MY GOD by Innocent Mkandawire

To my dear Rev. Dale Freeman---
I salute you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. May His amazing grace continue to bless and protect your family and all those who carry the Gospel with you.

I am delighted to learn that you are still praying for me and I want you to know that I pray every day for you.
I am sorry that I have been slow in writing. A few days after I had posted my last letter to you, my grandma suddenly passed away in our home village.

As a result of this my programme was disturbed. Now I will write you and tell you that I will see my grandma again. I had opportunity to lead her to Jesus over one year ago, and so when I went to her funeral, I found a great joy in the promises of God.

You know the redemption day is drawing near. How well I remember that hot noonday when we met for the first time.

I wanted to sell you a newspaper, and instead you gave freely to me. The Word of God through you pierced my young heart, and I gladly embraced Jesus as Saviour.
Then, you allowed me to be a part of your team.
I remember singing with the people, and then God allowed me to share the Gospel with the blind man sitting beneath the tree. Do you remember that? He seemed so helpless.

I shared the things that you had taught me, and the eyes of his spirit were opened and he saw Jesus.

I remember you saying that you felt that God was going to use me to tell my people about Him. Well, he has been doing that.
I and my friends go into the market places and preach Jesus just as you did. The joy is that we don't need a translator.

I wish that you could see the result of the tiny seed of faith that you planted in my heart.
Many more have come into our Lord's Kingdom since that day, and you will get to know them for yourself when we stand together before our Jesus.

Please pray for your friends and loved ones here in Africa.
Write to me often, and continue to send me books so that I can learn more about God and His Kingdom.
I strongly believe that we will one day meet again, whether on earth or in His Glory Land.

May the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ be praised, as we both continue to share His love through this tough age of evil, prosperity and hardships.

Glory be to His Name!
Your Friend and Spiritual Son in Africa,
Innocent
