Sally Whittington shares about the importance of family in the development of
growing children. An encouragement to touch the future through making
spiritual investment in their lives here and now.
THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY
The children were many. The family's problems were numerous - abuse, drugs,
alcohol, abandonment and more. But the children came to church. They came
every week, every service, for many years. They participated in the
children's programs, were active in youth activities, involved in college
and young adult classes while serving on church committees, as camp
counselors and participating in missions. They were served, taught and
provided for. They became servants, teachers, and givers - examples for us
all.
Studies show that we humans are shaped by our surroundings. There is
incontrovertible proof that we are the product of our environment. These
children could be, should be anywhere else except serving God and others with
their whole hearts.
How could this be?
They have a grandmother who prays for them!
